The best-selling book of all time: The Holy Bible.
Many Christians own a Bible, the problem I see is that very few Christians are reading it on a daily basis and even less have read through the entire Bible. If the Bible is so important to Christians, then why are so few reading it and applying what it says to their own life?
The Bible certainly seems important: (I found these verses)
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
2 Tim. 3:16
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
If Ephesians declares we are fighting a spiritual battle, then why are Christians showing up to the fight without their weapon?
The Bible its the Manual of the Creator of the Universe for those who believe in their hearts minds and spirit what it says and practices it to the best of their ability, never satisfied with his or her performance. As it says in 2 Tim. 3:16:
"All scripture (of the Bible)is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness"
If there was not Bible, there was not christian believers.
How "Christians" have allied themselves to or joined the political party that has taken prayer out of school, pushes Islam, pays abortionists and subverts our children's education is also a mystery.
I believe that if you can find the answer to either question, it will also answer the other one.
Hosea 4:6 [Full Chapter]
my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. “Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children.
The WORD of God was made FLESH. The Bible is important for the living, because the dead are the place they choose by their words.
So we as Christians have to have a guide book on how to live a life that will bring us the Joy of the Lord. Now we are no longer under the law but not all things helps us, because we still have consequences. We are saved by faith and our confessions (tell the truth that Jesus is Lord) sso when we fight the good fight for others souls etc then we HAVE TO HAVE KNOWLEDGE AND TRAINING JUST LIKE ANY OTHER SOLDER. A Christian with the knowledge of the Word and the boldness to use that knowledge is a powerful man against the the enemies of Jesus and evil spirits.
In today's world the word "Christian" is almost a generic. There's a wide range of people who are referred to as Christian. For the sake of your question I will target a more specific element who are Bible-believing, Christ-centered individuals, who've been born anew by God's Holy Spirit. They take the written Word of God--the Holy Bible--as their daily food. They feed on it's wisdom, teachings, its knowledge and solid instructions, its inspiration and hope, its commands and directives, its history accounts and revelations for the future and all eternity, its faith building, heart and soul edifying, moral strengthening, spirit, soul and body healing and nuturing Words of magnificent grace and out-stretched Love, whose perfect counsel is the very air they breathe. To God's elect, the Holy Bible is the unasailable authority of God. It's Words are pure, full of power, unbreakable, trustworthy, reliable, a solid foundation for the soul and the brightest beacon of Light and Life itself.
Without a doubt, the Bible is the strongest molder of morality and lasting family stability. It's importance to the Christian World should not be underestimated. But Christians (true or not) aren't the only ones who can benefit from its importance, because the Bible represents a myriad of examples to learning what I refer to as the “Basics of Life.”
And, just what are these Basics of Life?
Even the most loyal atheist and/or agnostic of humans can benefit from the Bible's importance. At Mark 12:30-31 New International Version (NIV), Mark emphasises Jesus' command that we “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.” The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.'” There is no commandment greater than these.”
Think about it, “There is no commandment greater than these!”
The Bible is very important to Christians however it must never take the place of Jesus Christ. The "whole" message about Christianity is Jesus Christ and the Bible is meant to point the Christian to Christ and not to become a substitute for Him. The Bible is not the truth. Jesus is the truth . The Bible is "not" the way (John 14:6). The Bible's function is to point the Christian to Jesus , the way to God and to break Him down to our created hearts. It is meant to reveal Jesus Christ as the Way and the only Way which means it is meant to show us that His life (Holy Spirit) joined to us is the way and the only way so the Bible is not the way. Works are not the way. Faith is not the way. Love is not the way. The Bible points to Jesus the way. Love faith and works result from an eternal relationship with God in the heart but they must never be seen as the way to access God. The way is Jesus Christ appropriated and the need of every age is Jesus living and working in the heart.
