The universe is expanding presently from its original birth at the big bang. It eventually will stop expanding and then slowly reverse and begin to collapse into itself. It will reach a point again where the total mass of the universe will be concentrated in a very small object of tremendous mass. This object will eventually explode again in another big bang repeating the whole process of creation again. The time period for this cycle is so large that it is incomprehensible for beings such as ourselves only used to short time frames as reference. Now imagine each of the above cycles and ponder how many would fit into eternity? The answer of-course is an infinite amount. Now imagine God as the creator of the entire material realm within this eternity. We have a difficult time imagining why such a powerful being would be interested in us and we will not know exactly why until we are in that eternal realm. Upon that transition we will become completely aware of the whys and hows to many, if not all, of our questions which are now limited by our finite comprehension.
My suggestion is to ask all these questions to God in prayer genuinely and seek his answer. Keep praying till you get your answer. He had promised in the Bible that those who seek shall find. I can tell you what I think but I am not sure if it would convince you. Except I will say that if you want to know what God is like look at Jesus. He is the exact image of God and he is God.
*Elohim about you like he said in John 3:16 “For Elohim so loved the world that He gave His only brought-forth Son, so that everyone who believes in Him should not perish but possess everlasting life". That is alot to give for you.
*Yeshua Jesus told the Samaritan woman, “Eloh is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth” (John 4:24). “Spirit” means incorporeal being
*Elohim was clear about His name: Isa 42:8 “I am יהוה (YHWH-Yahveh), that is My Name, and My esteem I do not give to another, nor My praise to idols".
*If you get close to Yeshua, the Messiah of Israel, you will know the Creator and if love Elohim you will comply with all his commandments as it says in : 1Jn 5:2-3 "By this we know that we love the children of Elohim, when we love Elohim and guard His commands. For this is the love for Elohim, that we guard His commands, and His commands are not heavy" See also Mathew 7:17-22. Blessings
Hello friend, you are asking age-old questions which have all been answered. It is written, "Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends." You ask if God really cares about you. It is written, "but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." That is the greatest expression of love ever known. To love is to care.
What is God like and does He have a name? God is infinite spirit and it is impossible to truly comprehend the fullness of His Majesty. But Jesus came into the world that we might know God. He said to Phillip, "Whoever has seen me has seen the Father." So, by looking over Jesus' life while here on Earth, we can get a handle on what God is like because Jesus is God. He is loving, forgiving, perfect, full of Grace, wise, omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, creative, and list goes on and on but never forget He is Holy, Holy, Holy.
