Do you think new Earth like planet found by NASA can actually support life?

Hayo,
Today came out the news that NASA Kepler telescope has found an Earth like Planet!
What do you think about this?
Can this planet actually support life?
You think we will ever make it there? Keeping in mind that this Planet is like 1500 Light Years from Earth.
And finally what do you think about existence of Intelligent Alien Life through out the Galaxy?

Looking forward to your answers.

It is only matter of time until we find Earth like planets all over the Universe and intelligent life in many of these planets, if not all of them.

Even if this planet does support life, what is the Point it, as it is 1500 Light Years away, our fasatest Space ships will take something like 30,000 Years to get there. Or more.

I am afraid until we have a profoundly different technologies, that these finds are just a waste of Tax payers Money.

Life can be only possible on this planet if water exists. However, water was not yet proved there.

berniecosmo, I thought it has been proven that this Planet has Water and lots of it.
After all, how else can NASA state that they have found a Earth like Planet without it having Water, since Water is an essential element for life.

There is one thing in common that nature has, be it here or in the universe. First that it is a series of repeats. So, if you look under one rock and see a bug, you can rest assured that if you look under enough more, you will also find another bug. If there is life in the universe on one planet, then there is life on another somewhere. Just remember that nature is the law of repeats. So there has to be life out there somewhere.

Reporter, Here, I have a report of the NASA. Please heed the word "could" with the observation of water. "NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration

stevensrd1, I think you make a very good Observation about "Nature being all about Repeats".
