Which Game console should I buy?

My daughter has been driving me crazy to buy her a Game console, since so many of friends have Game consoles.
I have been trying to discourage her from Game consoles, because I do not want her to get hooked on these Virtual Worlds and instead read books and do real World things. But since she is hounding me to death now, I am going to get her a Game consoles after all. What I wanted to know is which Game console the best one to buy? In particular which one has most educational Games on it beside shootem up Games?

And where do you recommend I buy it from for best price?
