AnooX search engine is operated under the AnooX Open Source License ("AOSL") in an Open & De-centralized fashion. This means that the AnooX search engine source code can be obtained for free by companies world wide who are interested to become AnooX search engine providers ("SEP") for their local market (country). The result of AnooX operating in this Open & De-centralized fashion is that unlike other search engines where one company controls the search results of those search engines, with AnooX no one company will be controlling the search results of AnooX, but 100's of different companies from through out the world representing their local market (Country) will be responsible for the AnooX search results.

On one hand one can say that AnooX model of operating a search engine where no central authority controls the search results is quite revolutionary, and that would be a true statement regarding the operation of a search engine. However AnooX model of operation is very much the same as that of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN). That is similar to ICANN that enables 100's of different companies worldwide to become domain name registrar for their country domain name based on some ICANN software & core methods, AnooX is enabling 100s of different companies worldwide to become (AnooX) search engine provider for their local market/country based on AnooX software & methods for generating search results which are powered by the knowledge of the people.
