Jesus was special. Aside from the first man, Adam, whom God made from earth, Jesus is the only human being to not have an earthly father. His mother conceived as a virgin. That may be hard for us to believe or understand, but it was hard for Mary too (Luke 1:26-38). Even when Jesus had grown up, gossip and slander apparently continued about His mother, namely, that she was an immoral woman and that Jesus was the offspring of her fornication (John 8:41).
No informed Christian believes that God slept with Mary, and clearly, the Bible does not teach it. It should never be made a point of debate, and attempts to do so are either foolish or ill-intended.
In the passage cited above (John 10:31-38), Jesus said that He had been “sent into the world.” He came from God, not from a human father. He came to this world, not from this world. That’s true of no one else.
While a direct answer is “YES” the Bible proclaims BOTH – Jesus is ‘the Son of God’ & God in the flesh. He came to do what no mere human could ever hope to accomplish – achieve an eternal reconciliation between God & Mankind. The more important question is a deeply personal one – Who do YOU believe He is? All the eyewitness testimonies recorded in the Scriptures, combined with centuries of further personal testimonies of encounters with Christ may provide substantial evidence to convince naysayers on an intellectual level. However, the answer must become a personal reality in order to remove all doubt & confusion. Christ has promised to introduce Himself to every sincere seeker of truth. Being God in the Flesh, He is resurrected & lives to reveal Himself to all honest searchers of fact. Without a PERSONAL ENCOUNTER reports by others tend to remain relegated to POSSIBLE.
