DOES THE BIBLE FAVOR THE WEALTHY?

Three NT authors (MARK, LUKE AND MATTHEW), state that “THE RICH WILL GET RICHER, AND THE POOR WILL GET POORER”. (REF. MARK 4:25, MATTHEW 13:11-12 & 25:29, and LUKE 8:18 & 19:26). Those “discriminatory” parables filled the poor people with sorrow, and despair; because they faced a bleak future, with diminishing funds, affecting their survival.
Do you think that those irresponsible, and discriminatory, parables were justified?
Your comments will be greatly appreciated.
Kind regards,
John Romer

PARABLE OF THE SOWER
The subject is about WISDOM (1 Cor Ch1-2 ,New American Standard Bible).
A “disciple” is one who disciplines his life to the teachings of the one he is following. Disciples of Jesus’ teachings separate from the great multitude to live like Jesus (Mk4:9-10).
This is the KEY PARABLE. “If you don’t understand this parable, how will you understand all the parables?” (Mk 4:13).
The explanation is to His disciples – who choose to hear (Mt 13:10-16).
The disciples are blessed because they see/hear (Mt 13:16).

Your heart is the garden. Hear. (Mt 13:18-19, Lk 8:12,15)
Take care what you listen to, by your standard of measure it will be measured to you (Mk 4:24-25).

Since this parable is not about physical wealth – but spiritual wisdom – it is NOT DISCRIMINATORY or irresponsible (Mt 13:22).
They picture our FREE CHOICE to resist Satan to choose to show our faith and loyalty to our Lord!

THE BIBLE Surely does not FAVOR THE WEALTHY, since as Jesus said:
"it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”

This means Trump Republican and their Wall Street Puppet masters whom wallow in Billions, flying in their $100-Million Private jets to their $200-Million Yachts to sail to their multiple $50-Million mansions, in NYC Palm Beach and Israel, while at same time the Middle class is stuffed like c***k roaches in Coach class seats, and is living one pay check from another and in USA 100-Million have NO even Healthcare, all so Trump Republican and their Wall Street Puppet masters can make Trillions more off back of American People. All of which wrong they sell via the right-wing Media cabal they control from CNN to CNBC to Fox to psychos on TalkRadio, will NOT be "entering the kingdom of God”.

verichip, well said man. It is amazing how the Wall Street having no shame put in place this Uber clown of theirs Trump after putting in place that fake clown of theirs Obama. SO the SCAM on US during Obama Admin, to do nothing for the People was that:
"We have a Debt Crisis", "Fiscal Cliff", "We are borrowing from our Children", etc.
and now during Trump is:
"Russia Russia Russia, Porn Star Porn Star Porn Star", etc.
while Wall Street is hitting record high after another. Sick :(

I believe you are missing the entire objective of Jesus' parable at Matthew 19:24. The object of it, I believe, is to point each and every one of us in the direction of the kingdom of GOD, wherefore if we are focused on the kingdom, with heart and mind, seeking riches and/or material things don't become our primary goal. Riches don't become our master (or god). Should riches find their way into our lives and are used to help others with intent and without the expectation of more wealth,

The Good Samaritan was used by Jesus to illustrate kindness and love of neighbor. Would a poor man have been able to help the crime victim?

Sorry TOS, but as to this, I couldn't disagree with you more. Government has everything to do with it! In fact, it is the primary duty of government to help the people. When the first true government was established, it wasn't established to merely hand down laws upon the people of Israel, but to aide them and to make them more loving (and helpful) towards their neighbors. You asked, "Would a poor man have been able to help the crime victim?" I'm sure once you

Actually, the International Monetary Fund: GDP (nominal) in 2017, ranked Israel 33 out of 191 countries - NOT a 'poor' economy by any comparison. Israel has a technologically advanced market economy with cut diamonds, high-technology equipment and pharmaceuticals among its major exports. Never-the-less, like so many 'world leaders' in the Western world, significant gaps between the rich and poor still exist. It is ranked 30th overall in terms of “Best Countries". Saudi Arabia is ranked less.

The point about government needs clarification similar to ‘immigration’ where people tend to generalize opinions, NOT properly designating between ‘legal’ & ‘illegal’. While government is beneficial in some cases, when it becomes too BIG & regulatory, corruption begins to corrode it from within & it no longer exists “For the People” – but for itself. In the US we currently face a problem only half the voters realize. Government must conform to the Constitution, NOT evolve into

Understood, MJ, but my illustration was meant to demonstrate that government should play a part in helping not only the poor and legitimate needy, but all of its people whose duty it is to serve them, with reason and effectively, and that the poor are able to help the poor overcome certain victimization. Not as instantaneously as the richest and wealthiest of Americans can, but over time, through careful planing of legislature, the bugs in our welfare system can be flushed eradicated

It appears that my statement was cut off.... The last sentence should read - NOT evolve into a communist regime with merely capitalist imagery.

I agree with you, Cal about the appropriate role 'good' government should assume. The poor CAN help the poor - I once was poor, but mow I am rich. Government didn't 'help' me, in fact, it worked against me. In the name of 'Affirmative Action' I was denied several jobs I was well qualified for because I was NOT a 'minority'. The point TOS made about the 'rich' helping the poor was NOT properly comprehended by me UNTIL I became part of management. The government's primary duty is to protect the country and enforce the law. Until displaced by Johnson's welfare state people helped one another as the Good Samaritan helped the victim of robbers. Private citizens took care of those who couldn't care for themselves. I work with the St. Vincent dePaul Society in a small town. We have had over 120 cases of people in need just since the New Year.
The government uses up, in salaries, travel, etc. more than the poor get.

TOS, you speak of things that are already known. It is for just that reason why I consistently referred to "good government" not the kind of partisan government we have today. And I must say, it's true the governments primary duties are to "protect the country and enforce the law." No one in their right mind can disagree with that. But the 'operative word' is "primary" not ONLY! And this government doesn't even do that well.

Over the decades the government has increased taxation, to discourage personal charity, in an effort to replace it with welfare and the Nanny State.
The harm to many charitable groups has been tremendous and the government has grown huge in an area where they are particularly unsuited, unknowledgeable and inefficient.
Many of the ills of today's society, including fatherless homes, teenage pregnancies, school dropout rates and generational poverty are direct results of bad government policies.

Agreed, in part. But you must still factor in - Individual responsibility in many of those matters. This is why we need new blood to enter the political arena. New blood with true integrity accompanied with a sound mind and a good heart. Not what exists now. Too many criminals!

To think that those parables are irresponsible and discriminatory is NOT justified. Believing the Word of God to be eternal truth, that God is absolutely just, responsible, and non-discriminatory, there can be no such conclusion regarding the ‘justice’ of these Scriptures. Living in a world under the curse of sin, injustice reigns WITHOUT discrimination – EVERYONE is affected. Scripture offers a solution to the sin problem, but ONLY for those who accept it – the atoning sacrifice of Christ. When the Bible declares FACTS (of which poverty, wealth, and related consequences are a part), objection or rejection of them does NOT invalidate them. FACTS are FACTS. As long as the Earth revolves around the Sun, there will be day & night. As long as the Moon orbits the Earth, there will be ocean tides. As long as the wind collides with opposite currents, there will be weather changes. We have No control over these or other unpleasant facts under the curse of sin.

We do not choose where or to whom we are born into this world. Some are born rich, others born poor. Some are of one ethnicity, color, race, or culture. These are a CONSTANT and will never change. Nevertheless, each and every individual can change their attitude and future based upon their personal understanding and acceptance of these FACTS. To think that poverty, sorrow, and disdain are proof of injustice elevates the opposite to a position of superiority and preference.

That being so, every individual has the God–given grace to choose what his or her personal preference is. I’ve ministered to the ‘under-privileged’ in my community for 40+ years. Some respond to assistance and change their ‘plight’. Many do not, preferring to remain destitute (for reasons of their own that I cannot fully comprehend) – but those are the FACTS.

The political system and who runs it are the greatest determinants to financial success, in a country with all the required infrastructure and resources.
All else being equal, many in the U.S. will never have anything because they have been convinced that the majority hates them and holds them back.

I, myself, have never believed in the 10% concept of racism in America. It has always been considerably higher. Nor do I believe in the "dog whistles" that the "majority of America is filled with hate towards those who have nothing." Those who have nothing or "may never have nothing" exists in that status for a variety of reasons, not isolated to just one!

I believe that remnants, of the majority, may still be overtly racist, it is easier to find racism among minority populations. This may be traced to negative political activism or a victim complex (also probably from community organizing).
Racism is now a tool for community division, wielded by ill-intentioned and most often political groups, bent on sowing discord.

I have to laugh at racists playing the 'race-card'. I'm white, but i'm discriminated against because I'm NOT a member of a minority? I'm called a 'white supremacist' yet I have bi-racial grandchildren (whom I love & live in my home). Our community has been a happy 'melting-pot' of ethnic & racial diversity for decades. Suddenly, we're chastised by our state politicians for not being 'inclusive' simply because we oppose a state sanctuary policy? Its criminals, NOT minorities or LEGAL immigrants

Since they were not in agreement, they were bullied & ostracized publicly, leaving the issue of racial discrimination to be flaunted as the reason for hatred? Do as I say, not as I do apparently.

And, MJ, I can think of no better reason for bringing in new blood, people with much more integrity than what exists now in government. As you know, despite ancient Israel's constant disobedience to GOD, the Israelites, for the most part, were a GOD-fearing people, who were once satisfied with barter, until the concept of coin was introduced, and jealousy, coveting, control and power became more important than obedience to GOD. Although our own country was marred in its creation,

Cal, if only the USA could find such “people with moral integrity, and unselfish pragmatism”! Sadly, even when we agree on principles, we allow party affiliation to keep us separated. We can even agree on the perfect solutions, but fail to incorporate them because of a lack of trust in certain candidates. Funny that we both want “new blood” in our government, but can’t agree on WHO that “new blood” should be. Peace!

I’m interested in seeing evidence that supports your claim about = “the pilgrimage of former Democratic racists into the Republican Party.”.” Most former Dems (like me) who became Republicans did so because they discovered fraud & hypocrisy & reverse discrimination. Dems have always recruited voters from the ranks of the so-called under-privileged. They prey on the naïve & innocent by promoting a false narrative of prosperity & equality when in reality their true radical agenda

The Dems want to by-pass all that. Persons illegally in America know little about the way our government is designed to function, why should they be allowed to vote?

The Democrats gave up three or four racist politicians to the Republican Party, but required them to take an oath to give up racism and fight against it.
The rest stayed Democrat and fought against the passage of Civil Rights legislation, only ever written and introduced by Republicans.

Mark – TOS, this is not intended to argue you down in such matters, but I make no apologies to what I have known, and believed, for a long time. Look, it was the perception that the Republican Party had served as the vehicle of White supremacy in the South, particularly during the Goldwater campaign, and the Presidential Elections of 1968 and 1972, times during and after I had let go of my hatred for Whites, that made it difficult for the Republican Party to win the support of Black voters in the South in later years. It wasn't because Blacks and minorities were being misled by Democrats, but because of the direct

Okinawa, I am well aware of the Democrat mythology and its attempt to conflate different events into one great platform shift between the pro-racist Democrats and the anti-racist Republicans.
The mythological switch consisted of the Dixiecrats running Strom Thurmond against Harry Truman for the Democrat primary in 1948 and the FBI moving into the South and ending lynching.
Lynching was a crime reserved as punishment for any man suspected of being a Republican. Black suspects were usually...

...badly beaten if it was the first offense, white women were shot and white men were lynched (there was no first offense for race traitors).
When the FBI set up field offices throughout the South in 1964 they were to make sure that the CRA was obeyed, which included the end of lynchings.
Without the fear of being lynched many closet Republicans came out. Both Rev. M.L. Kings included. The Democrats got away with a few atrocities, but largely their hateful days of lynching were over.

The great exodus from the party of slavery and segregation wasn't the racists and the four white Democrat politician who switched swore an oath to uphold the CRA and disavow racism.
There never was a racist migration. If you would read up on the Dixiecrat politicians you would find that only those four out of over 100 made the switch.
The Democrats are still the party of racism, they just wield it more subtly these days.

The ones that promote ‘traditional values’ get my vote – Democrat or Republican, Independent, etc. I also look for endorsements by other prominent groups & leaders. When they are known to oppose my beliefs as a Christian (such as planned parenthood, anti-Semitic, gay rights, etc.) I DO NOT vote for them. Only those who have my support based upon these values deserve my vote. Sadly, I mostly abstained for voting in recent elections.

Let us not lump the U. S. Constitution with what you may believe GOD gave them the wisdom to create. Shall we then say it was out of the wisdom of GOD that the system of non-religious slavery was inculcated within its framing? Would not GOD had given them the wisdom not to inculcate the brutality of their slave system into the constitution's framing? Furthermore, I believe the "condemnation" brought down upon those who "oppose" the authorities GOD has put in place, is the authorities themselves

Please stop, TOS! You know exactly what I am explaining here. In order to have the constitution, a compromise with the southern colonies had to be met. John Adams and others relented to that compromise, and the constitution was born. There lies the "pro-slavery" passage. It would be nice if you would read to want to understand. If you would, you'd have seen where I said (somewhat in like to you stating, "Jesus Christ never once railed against slavery")

Okinawa, now who is being obtuse? The U.S. Constitution is a contract, as evidenced by the Bill of Rights.
NO wording enshrining slavery exists in the U.S. Constitution because the Framers were writing it for the future of America. Without that document, the Republicans would have been disabled from freeing the slaves or writing all of the civil rights legislation.
It was an act of personal courage that many of the Signers took against their own interests to provide a path to freedom...

Okinawa, YOUR biggest mistake, besides being attitudinal is in claiming to know what I think or that such and such is why I say anything.
Perhaps you could learn more tolerance and hopefully put aside your prejudices so that they no longer keep you so defensive, biased and antagonistic.

...the South American or Caribbean purchaser would return the undesirable slave to the next slave ship in port and they got one final chance if they were bought by Americans? Otherwise any unsold slaves were thrown over the side of the ship in the Atlantic.

Cal, You say, “I cannot separate Donald Trump and most of his administration from it” indicating a view that their claims are merely hypocritical, & not genuine. When most of the media has reported negatively 90-95% of the time, obviously the majority of viewers are influenced accordingly. Trumps protests of ‘FAKE NEWS’ have been largely ignored or ridiculed as ridiculous. But since taking office he has accomplished more than most media reports. The news outlets that do report his favora

ble achievements are discounted as biased & shunned by the entertainment industry as well. As a pastor I learned that as they hated Christ, they hated me, Now I’m NOT inferring that the Trump administration is staffed by saints, but when I see ANY people being persecuted, made fun of, disrespected, & purposely maligned in the public forums – I am immediately suspicious of the tormentors. Those who well know the pain of discrimination (racial or religious) abhor injustice on every level.

This past year has been the worst political division & subsequent display of resistance, squelching of free speech, & feigned concerns for the under-privileged I have ever witnessed in my 65 years as an American. I pray for our nation, knowing that no one is perfect & certainly not our leaders. So, just as in the last election, I have to choose between the not so good & the imperfect. When my knowledge & personal experience cause me to slightly favor one over the other, my conscience demands

that I commit to the better choice. If the ONLY news acquired is already terribly slanted in resistance to one, then I’ve got to examine why. When my objective research results in irrefutable evidence that contradicts those oppositions, I separate myself from the crowd. Additionally, recent dismissals & ‘reassignments’ at the DOJ & FBI & investigations into Uranium One & Fisa Court abuse are beginning to slowly swing the pendulum back towards the right.

The broadest range of news sources will provide ALL perspectives objectively, leaving opinions to the listeners, NOT the commentators. When I read & hear similar facts from numeral sources I find a quite different consensus than being lauded by the liberal media. My circles of influence are predominantly conservative with an admittedly strong bias toward traditional values & Constitutional Law. On every point, the liberal left staunchly opposes those values. On Christ the Solid Rock I stand,

ALL other ground is sinking sand! I know who are with me by the outcry of those obviously against me. There is a right & a wrong, good & evil, one or the other in ALL of life. My God-given responsibility is to properly discern between the two.

Mark, I am in agreement with most of what you posted. With regards to your belief that Trump has done more than the media reports, or gives him credit for, to that I say Yes, of course he has, because he's been allowed to accomplish more. And, I believe he'd accomplish even more, if all he himself hoped to accomplish was more than rolling back everything Obama and his administration put in place, which seems to be his overwhelming obsession from start to present.

I make no apologies for my loathing of the current POTUS. I believe he deserves every ounce of my loathing of him, just as I feel you and others believe Obama is deserving of whatever bad feeling you have for him – to which I'm sure you make no apologies for either. It's difficult for me to believe that an eight-years president like Obama could have been the all-round disaster like Trump and his surrogates (including most Republicans) pushed forward from (mainly) 2010

Yes, I can admit to holding Obama to his share of blame for Syria, and for much of his foreign relations, but I refuse to blame him for the sun not shining, or for the unusual cold of Spring. He gets enough blame for that from Trump and his followers all over.

That being said, with regards to the news media – particularly those like MSNBC, CNN, whichever news sources Trump and the right deems as 'Fake News', I can only say – each to their own! I can honestly say, that the few times I watched Fox News, or listened to right-wing conservative talk radio, I have never had the displeasure of listening to so much disinformation – ever! The reporters of medias like MSNBC and CNN dig deep to the sources. They are labeled as 'Fake News'

Cont'd>> partly because of that and because they refuse to give Trump the blind loyalty that Fox News and conservative radio are willing to do. Those who claim they are 'Fake News' do so because they, too, are disappointed that such blind loyalty isn't afforded to Trump. These same people even refuse to see Trump for what he is – the most nefarious president to ever sit in the chair!

Cal, in my eyes you are the victim of liars and you have believed them. I can tell who lied to you, but they did lie.
The Democrat party has been plotting and working hard to regain control over black Americans, ever since they lost the Civil War.
They have also done everything possible to destroy the victorious Republicans, including the lynching murders of over 4,000.
Would God want you to be quiet if you knew someone who had been the victim of a horrible, vicious and corrosive lie?

Cal, while yes it is a plot the Democrats appear to be choosing Party over country.
The Democrats tight allegiance with entities, like Organized Crime, the former Soviet Union and George Soros has had more to do with their policies than the good of U.S. citizens.
They only need their millions of useful idiots to show up at polling places and vote for anything with a (D).
I'll trade you one John McGraw for a whole chapter of SEIU thugs, who invaded and violently disrupted peaceful Tea Party...

...events.First of all "Republican-White Nationalist" is a racist anti-American term invented to hurt, no differently than the term "honky" once was used.
These new Neo-Nazi and White Supremacist groups have been tied to men, like Jason Kessler, befriended by the last administration, from the occupier's group.
What a slick move - Democrats secretly start a fake movement that attracts morons and then have it try to support President Trump. It is one of the tricks Organized Crime taught them.

Now, who being antagonistic? Not only antagonistic, TOS, but also downright foolish and ignorant to the fact that all you have just said describes how I believe you truly feel about Trump and your own Republican Party. Awe, TOS, you almost had me fooled for a while. It's a pathetic shame, you are still quite delusional. Who's been found to be in bed with the Russians than Trump and his 'swamp creatures' he was suppose to get rid of? You've got to do better than this post TOS!

Cal, you just cannot be so ill-informed and attitudinal. I have given you credit for average intelligence but that doesn't square with your political beliefs.
I wish that I could speak to you in parables as suggested in Matthew 13:13:
"The reason I talk to them in parables is that they look without seeing and listen without hearing or understanding."
Maybe then, you would finally see the light.

I would much be one of the poor than being one of the rich. Look what Jesus says about the Poor: Luke 6:20
20 Looking at his disciples, he said:
“Blessed are you who are poor,
for yours is the kingdom of God

and:
Matthew 5:3
3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Now for the Rich Jesus says:
Matthew 19:24
24 Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”

Do not worry about material riches...they will become your gods.....but seek the TRUE GOD FIRST and you will receive eternal life in heaven which is far better than any material wealth here on earth.
God loves you and so do I!

IseeJesus and CollegeMHCoom, Greetings! Luke and Matthew do paint a beautiful picture of the poor. But I ask you, If the poor man steals, lies, commits adultery, murders and continues to SIN daily, how favorably will GOD look upon such a poor man? And if the poor man seeks riches because he is poor, but understands Luke and Matthew, and desires NOT to make wealth his god, will GOD look upon him favorability? I say YES and NO, because it still depends upon the true heart of the man!

If I might add to that. How badly might a rich man seem to the Almighty after a life lived giving men work for their hands, bread for their tables and a pension when they can no longer work?
The wealthy are the biggest reason that this planet is not a desolate wasteland, run by roving bands of marauders.
You might be surprised to find out how big that needle and its eye have grown in the past 19 centuries.

TOS, I agree, in part, mainly because of the role government should play in the lives of those who vote people in to serve them. In this case, the "rich man" should be the government, creating the best plans that will support and satisfy everyone. Each plan created must serve to support the current condition of every citizen. The rich man, in the instance of government, enforces laws that are common sense and just for all.. not diminished and made only to serve the relative few.

IJ, is this really the Truth that Jesus said:
"I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”

If that is True, that explains why USA is such a screwed up place, leading to our lives and treasure wasted on War after War after War, and other wrongs, thanks to the Wall Street Billionaires (Rich) that rule USA, leading to their Billionaire pal Trump being the POTUS. That explains it all then. Dont you think?

TOS, I have always supported Republican points of view, but in the ways you and others don't seem to understand. I also support the Democratic points of view, many of which I strongly feel supports mankind's "GOD-given" freedom of choice separate from man-made constitution. If we are judged by what we are doing, then for sure, based on what we are doing, GOD will judge us, individually, and individually we will answer to HIM when the time comes. Because I believe such,
