Does any one have a remedy for wrist sprains?

I have sprained my wrist and it is paining me. So I was wondering whether someone has tried any ointments which does give relief? It is actually on the bone and would really appreciate knowing how to combat this annoying pain.

A remedy I have used many times is a compress of onion. Put 3-4 onions in a blender and vitamise. Then pack onions around the wrist for 1-2 hours. It will feel cold, reduce the bleeding (bruising) and draw the pain from the injury. Repeat if necessary. Last time I sprained my ankle I did this and was walking on it in about 4 hours.
