What is the best way to learn to speak a foreign language?
What is the best way and why?
Participating in a group of other foreigners trying to learn the target language?
Individual instruction with a qualified native speaking tutor?
In your native country?
In a country where the target language is spoken nationally?
As some people said in their comments, moving to the country where the language is spoken 24 hours a day, is the best. However, that's not possible for all.
In my humble opinion, and only from my experience, reading out loud books (newspapers, magazines), is the best way to learn a language.
Then there are billions of tutorials on YouTube. Some are so, so funny!
Move to the Country whose language you wan to speak. This is the fastest and best way.
You can try taking classes too, but that leaves you in huge disadvantage as far as accent goes.
As the last and worse choice you can try one of the online language classes.
Bottom line, as everything else spend wisely 👮
How cool is that! And yes that is for sure would lead to best way to learning these languages. But of course most of us do not have such privilege and instead we need to learn a language by taking classes.
Most children can learn up to three languages without straining their brain. I know a young man who has an English mother, a French father, and a German Grandmother. He spent the first 15 years of his life in France, where he learned English, from his mother, French from his father, and German, from his Grandmother.
Amazingly, he does not only speak those three languages fluently, he also uses the three different accents perfectly!
