How to turn Off Auto Update on a new Dell computer?

Hi,
I have recently purchased a Dell computer. And this DAMN thing keeps doing Auto Update every few days, if not more often! And hence totally interrupts my work, life and productivity :(

So my question is how do we Turn OFF the damn Auto Update capability on a Dell computer?
Also, are other new computer brands such as Sony, HP, also so intrusive via Auto Updates gone amock or is this just Dell?
