Are you Traveling at Home or to other Countries?

With the coming New Year holidays and given uncertain events in 2017, will you be holidaying at Home, such as in UK, or going to mainland Europe or beyond to other Countries?

Yes, same here. What most worries me about Traveling is that you get to your Hotel and it
is not great. And who wants that when our House is so great. Specially I mean that about
Bathroom & Shower.

I'd be willing to settle for a cheap hotel if it meant I could travel, besides when I
travel I am not in the room much just to sleep then most of the time is spent exploring
where I am so I don't need a fancy hotel.

Heading to the west coast of France. The only thing that would stop me is very, very extreme weather which is not forecast.

Where in west coast of France are you going to?
What are your preferred destinations there?
We have been thinking of doing same, I mean take a trip to South West France. But cannot
decide where? We want to avoid the big Touristy places like Nice, Cann, etc.

I can recommend Brittany. The le Chaudron in St Brieuc serves beautifully cooked food and
not the normal tourist menu. You are given a wide choice dispayed on a blackboard. The whole
seabass is superb.

We're trying Saint Valéry en Somme. It looks like a beautiful little town.

weaver 1 month 3 weeks ago

Look into the history of the region before you go.It will help you appreciate the area
more.

Saint Valéry en Somme. Now that sounds like a cool place.
Maybe we all meet you there New Year day.

1st, What "uncertain events" are you talking about? Stock market is hitting one record high after another. Which is pretty good indication that things are going to turn out just pitchy in coming year.
Anyway, I am for sure heading out for a nice long 2 weeks vacation. We are heading to Hawaii, where the weather this time of year is just heavenly. Aloha :)

Enjoy your vacation, but here in the UK we are uncertain about the effect of Brexit and
the impact on travel companies and tourist destinations making it difficult to
budget.Hopefully the pound sterling will do well against the dollar and the euro.It is
like being on a roller coaster. Are you at the top going down, the bottom going up or
somewhere in the middle not knowing if you are going up or down.

writie 1 month 3 weeks ago

That is indeed the danger of floating currencies, and why most companies prefer stability
even if it can go both ways.

Ossena 1 month 3 weeks ago

weaver, well 1st you have yourself in Brit land to blame for Brexit passing, which caused
the Pound to drop vs the Euro. Hence making your Euro based vacations more expensive.

2nd, you should be thankful that Pound has not dropped even more vs Euro, as it should
have and I think it will. After all, Brit land is a peon compared to greater EU.

Now, let me ask you this, you being from UK, what are the real reasons Brits passed the
Brexit?

weaver 1 month 3 weeks ago

As Jeremy Paxman said David Cameron put his party before the real issue. The campaign to
remain was half hearted and gave room for disillusioned voters to register a protest
vote.David Cameron was happy to leave and let Teresa May pick up the mess he left behind.

weaver 1 month 3 weeks ago

Teresa May should read Theresa May.

Ossena 1 month 3 weeks ago

Well I was hoping you can tell me (us) what are the main reasons Brits voted for Brexit.
Of course we all know that David Cameron dropped the ball in setting this referendum
and then not explaining the other side.

weaver 1 month 3 weeks ago

If the remain camp had worked together they would have won.David Cameron did not expect
to lose, but as I was saying to Shirley Williams he was not a leader unlike Maggie
Thatcher. In a protest vote you are voting against the government rather than the issue in
question. You may ask why people voted for Trump?Does America belong to the Republicans or
the people of the USA? Only now are we beginning to realise the cost of leaving. The real
issues were never clearly thought through.

Ossena 1 month 3 weeks ago

Interesting, so the "real issues were never clearly thought through"!
This is completely opposite or not what the Media is telling the People.
About Trump, I think the main reason he was elected is simple. It is because the other
choice American People had to vote for, that is Hitlery Clinton was even worse! Was even
more War monger than Trump. Which makes you wonder what kind of country USA is!

weaver 1 month 3 weeks ago

We are now realising how much we will lose when we leave the EU.Universities and Farmers
rely heavily on EU funding,This will become a burden for the UK taxpayer. We probably get
more out of the EU than we put in,so watch the process unravel. We may turn back when we
reach the edge of the cliff. It would be good to see a balance sheet in relation to our EU
contributions and subsidies to see if "leave" is a viable option.

Ossena 1 month 3 weeks ago

Weaver, yes I agree with you that:
'We are now realising how much we will lose when we leave the EU"
but my question is WHAT are the reasons that resulted in UK People voting for this
Brexit?
