Have you ever heard of this statement before or something similar to it, "I'm a man of science not religion". Why do people assume the comparative factor IS religion. I mean, I'm not interested in religion and never will be. But, it did make me wonder. What is religion? Or what is religion to you?
To me, religion is...
All the useless rituals that Catholics, Mormons, etc do in attempt to "please" God.
The exaltation of one's own self (like the Pope).
The error in thought that self-righteousness (being a good person) or baptism plays a contributing factor to one's own salvation.
Religious "onlyism" (cult-like) thought that only their religion is saved.
Furthermore the statement above should be, "I'm a man of science, not the Bible". But, in context of that statement you become an oxymoron because you're forced to admit that the Bible validates science.
For example in Isaiah 40:22, "It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth," - Or the earth is round. The Bible validates science.
Job 38:31, "Can you bind the chains of Pleiades, or loose the cords of Orion?"
