What does the Vote in UK for Brexit means to US?
So in UK they had a Referendum where the People of UK Voted to leave the EU.
What do you think are the real results of this Vote?
Will it overall mean much or not? Since after all, UK remains the same place as it was before, which is about 100-Miles from main land of Europe and a major trading partner of Europe.
So why all the "Doom & gloom" Fear Mongering about this Vote?
i think think this is a fail Vote. Why !! because the major of young people's (35-20 years old) votes with ( No ), and the important thing that this people's will be the most part affected with this vote maybe for the next 20 years. in the contraire, the major of old people's (+ 60 old) votes with (yes). and that vote will not change them lives so much !! Not !!
I think it means that UK wants not to support the poorer European Union countries, such as Romania, Bulgaria, etc. and rather have their Taxes spent on their internal Social and Welfare services.
Really that is all it means.
But of course some can argue, as they are, that this is racist and xenophobic.
Excellent summation of this Vote.
My hat off to you Sir :)
It is amazing how this Site is full of intelligent well informed people, such as yourself, vs many other sites in US where they seem to be filled with right-wing whack jobs whom see everything via the lens of "Socialism", etc. negative spins.
So now the Stock market has roared back up 500 ponits over last 2 days.
I hate to say, but this is what I told you would happen. That is far from the doom & gloom that Wall Street media was running, that Brexit is going to mean this or that disaster, in fact it is going to be better Europe and stronger, since now UK will not be able to hold back Europe from becoming more united under German French leadership.
Brexit is good news for the US and all indicators show that the two are back together again in a large economical tie as before. It also means that Germany and France are left alone to each other among developed countries.
I think there is Truth to what you are saying as well as False.
The false is that France & Germany will actually get stronger and richer due to this Vote, since now they get to set the future of Europe as they see fit to be the strongest union, free from UK meddling and disruptions. This is actually one of those Win Win situations.
LC, I think that actually this Vote shows lots of enlightened leadership.
That is European leadership of France & Germany is very happy to see UK out of EU so that they can grow it more powerful free of UK meddling.
Vote in UK for Brexit means just that British People want more of their Taxes spent on their internal Social services rather than sent to Brussels to be spent EU Wide. So the Brexit is just a rather inward looking Vote. However it is inward to the entire British Nation. So one can hardly do anything but agree with it.
It really is a Jolly good Show of Brits real Voting Power :)
Total regret for exit is starting to set in in the UK and the pro exit side is starting to admit their lies. Nigel Farage also admitted yesterday that the fee that they pay the EU has no guarantee of going to the national Health system (NHS) which was promised during the campaign for the pro exit side of the augment. I guarantee that their will be a re-vote of this proposition because it is far too important for Britain. The fact that their were outright lies by the pro-exit side means that the vote was invalid and a re-vote is required. Source: http://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/682979/Nigel-Farage-NHS
"Speaking on ITV just an hour after the Leave vote was confirmed, the Ukip leader said the £350 million figure could not be guaranteed and claimed he would never have made such a promise in the first place."
Hey thanks for sharing this Video.
Until seeing this Video I really did not know what the Brexit was exactly about. Since US Media spins everything so much for their narrative rather than what the facts are. So this Video from UK really opened my eye as to the facts that this Vote in UK is above all for strengthening their Welfare State and Social services.
