What do you think about: God Created the world in 6 days?
I looked up the word "DAY" and it also translates into a new birth, and we are born again so wouldn't a New Birth be a more accurate translation? FYI I know day is only used, all through the Bible as a day or new day. Day also can be translated as a new season. If you believe God created the whole world in six days I won't argue the point
Unfortunately, the HOLY BIBLE was written by fallible and mortal authors. Although it contains many jewels of wisdom, it also contains a lot of contradictions, inaccuracies and fairy tales.
i am not surprised when people sometimes disagree with my Posts, and comments. That is due to the fact that CHRISTIANITY IS THE MOST DIVIDED RELIGION IN THE WORLD. if you do not believe me, please access: WIKIPEDIA'S: "LIST OF CHRISTIAN DENOMINATIONS".
The point i would like to make is that the OMNIPOTENT CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE DID NOT NEED A REST AFTER HE CREATED THE WORLD. Why? Because the OMNIPOTENT CREATOR IS A SPIRITUAL ENTITY.
SPIRITUAL ENTITIES CAN CREATE PLANETS, STARS, GALAXIES, AND EVEN MORE UNIVERSES, WITHOUT GETTING EXHAUSTED.

Read the first verse of Genesis. It gives NO indication when the Earth was made. In the following verses, it states 6 days. Based on archaeology, geology, and so on the Earth is billions of years old.
From that we can logically put together this scenario:
1) God made the Earth some time in the distant past, probably billions of years ago.
2) Something happened to destroy the surface of the Earth. Maybe the same catastrophe that destroyed the dinosaurs.
3) Some time after that God renewed the Earth in 6 days making it habitable for humans.
Hum! That is certainly a fresh interesting read of this Myth that " God Created the world in 6 days". But I still think that this idea of yours is anything but real and that the evolutionary idea is the real one. Still a good try :)
I think we have such a thing as Evolution which shows life developed on Earth over Billions of Years.
So it is fine for simple minds that "God Created the world in 6 days". But for learned People, that is just not even remotely True.
The Genesis creation narrative is the creation myth of both Judaism and Christianity. ...
In the first part (Genesis 1:1–2:3) Elohim, the Hebrew generic word for God, creates the heaven and the earth in six days, starting with darkness and light on the first day, and ending with the creation of mankind on the sixth day.
I was thinking about each of the "days' mentioned in creation as being a thoisand years each, by applying the principle of "with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day". But then I noticed that each day ended with, "And the evening and the morning were...". So this is referring to cycles of night and day, which means each day in the account of creation are literal days.
Thanks, the Bible doesn't state the length of each creative day. Most say that the Six Creatives is how long it took for the earth to be created, however, they ignore that fact that the earth already existed before the Six Creative Days began. "And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved on the face of the waters." (Genesis 1:2) That is the intro of Genesis before the first creative day.
Actually (John 1:1) supercedes (Genesis 1:1). Before (Genesis 1:1) creation as we know already had countless angels. Angels were created individually, notice this inspired scripture. "When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?" (Job 38:7) Notice morning stars in plural which is the beginning of Creation along with all sons of God. At the closing of Rev. Jesus stated, " I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star." (Rev 20:16)
Yes, I also mentioned the original creation of heaven and earth in verse 1, in my comment further below. And that verse 2 shows something had happened that destroyed the earth and all life on it, and put it into darkness and chaos. The following verses after that is God fixing it, and bringing light and life back to the earth again. >
But notice each time it says, "And the evening and the morning were...". This tells us that each of these days were cycles of night and day. So these were 24 hour days, rather than long periods of time.The scripture, "with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day", doesn't neccessarily mean a literal amount of time. It can also mean God speading up His work, so He can cause more to happen in a shorter time. ,>
For example, instead of a day lasting for a thousand years, God can do a thousand years worth of work in a single day. And that scripture is just an example of how God can cause more to happen in a shorter amount of time. So that can apply to a situation in our own life.
Some creationists teach that the earth is just a few thousand years old. However, according to the Bible, the earth and the universe existed before the six days of creation. (Genesis 1:1)href="https://www.jw.org/en/jehovahs-witnesses/faq/creationism-belief/"> Take alook at this Article
Yes, that's what I said, "the original creation of heaven and earth in verse 1, in my comment further below. And that verse 2 shows something had happened that destroyed the earth and all life on it, and put it into darkness and chaos. The following verses after that is God fixing it, and bringing light and life back to the earth again. And that each of those days are 24 hour days where God was doing that, because it tells us that there were cycles of night and day. >
Look God created himself, than the universe, and everything in it, and then he destroyed it 5 times since the beginning. He's back, and he's less than happy at the inhabitants on the face of his world, in his image, doing the most ridiculous of things in His name. He's really to understand, and starts every statement with I command you! If God doesn't talk to you in a commanding tone than you are not talking to God. I wouldn't worry about it.
@golfer nice question
Day= light, revelation
New day= new light, new revelation
The morning of each day is ushered into existence by the dawn of the rising sun & the sun dispenses his illuminating and prolific rays to every portion of the visible horizon, warming the whole earth with his embrace of light, and giving new-born life and energy to plant and tree, and beast and man, who, at its touch, awake from sleep. The darkness of thee night is also dissipated by its rays. Every day of God is a new birth or revelation. And that's the reason why God's most advanced creation was created last. The last was made to be first. i.e to rule over the former because He was the most advanced revelation of God's light (i.e he was made in Gods image/reflected God's nature)
Actually the earth was void, and empty before the first day because there was not yet light for there to be a day until he brought forth the light (Genesis 1: 1-5) so then we do not know exactly how old the earth really is. It was the everything on the earth that had been formed, and everything created on it within 6 literal days.
By New Birth did you mean "The Start of the Morning Light" which could be the implication of that. The Hebrew term for the word "DAY" in Genesis I believe is Yome/Yom of which by implication is a reference to the heat of the day in a Strong's Dictionary.
