I am going to replace my current flooring with either Hardwood or Laminate (except in the kitchen). There are now so many choices to choose from, engineered etc., I need help. I want the flooring to look great and be long lasting with minimal maintenance.

I also have stairs, would you recommend that I use Hardwood/Laminate on the stairs (or is it too slippery) as I am replacing the lino in the kitchen with cushioned lino (unless I hear otherwise) so could do the stairs with it.
