Which is the best water to drink: Tap or Bottle?

Is bottle water really better than tap water?
I have been curious for some time now, and I have tasted both but do not know which is best for you. So which is really better for you?

Depends a lot on WHERE the bottled water comes from AND WHERE the tap water comes from.

If you are in Flint, Michigan, bottled water, no matter the source, is going to be as good, or more likely better, than the lead contaminated Flint tap water.

If you are in Portland, Oregon, tap water (no poisonous aluminum flouride added) will be as good if not better than bottled water from most sources.

Depends on whether you are in a place like Flint or not.

Yeah, it depends on the type of bottle water. In my opinion, If I dont see them clean the water with my own two eyes then I dont know if they just filled the bottle water with tap water. In conclusion, they are both the same to further notice with my own two eyes.

This is a very pessimistic point of view, but I get your reasoning. I have to admit the smell of tap water, this may vary from where exactly you are located, but the smell I get is not exactly appealing if you know what I mean.

I have recently started to drink bottled water and I have to admit I don't smell the same nasty smell. I must emphasise It could just be down to location.

It depends where the Water was Bottled at. And how much does it cost. So if I could drink Avian for same price as Tab Water, I would drink Avian all the time. But since that is not the case in reality, I would go with Tab Water since it is much more economical

Since many have pointed out the clean aspect can be pretty comparable depending on where you are, it may come down to a matter of taste. If your tap water is safe, the water company reports show clean levels, and the taste is acceptable to you, it's going to save you money overall to drink tap water. If you are still concerned with its cleanliness, you can purchase the containers with replaceable filters or a filter for your faucet. If your taste buds reject your tap water, the choice is clear.

I think I might invest in filters because the smell of my tap water is of putting, and being stretched for cash, it is not always affordable for me to buy bottled water.

Thanks all the same.

As someone rightly pointed out, it depends on where you live. Even if you get good drinking water in your tap, the pipeline supplying water is never cleaned. So guess for yourself, how many years water has been passing through those pipelines? On the other hand, Bottling plants clean their storage tanks regularly and bottle them up. It is best to get water from reputed companies who are known for health standards and maintenance of storage facilities. I personally prefer bottled drinks and buy 25 liters canned water for my daily consumption. I hope this answers your question.

In terms of finding germs in a drinking water, it is not possible for us to find it in open eyes. May be, your bottled water carries more germs than the tap water and the vise versa.

I heard that water from the tap is recy cled water, surely if this is a common practise then tap water cannot be 100%, where as spring water let's say direct from the mountains will be. The only problem is logistics.

Tap water and bottled water are generally comparable in terms of safety. So the choice of tap or bottled is mostly a matter of personal preference.
However, Bottled water is the world's fastest growing beverage, but consumers would be better served by simply turning on the tap.
Bottle water is good most especially when you are travelling, easy to carry and safe. But when you are home, Bottled water may be no safer or healthier than tap water.

It depends on where you live. Some cities have very clean tap water whereas some bottled water would be best to stay away from. To find out if your tap water is clean and safe to drink, do some research. If it is... why spend extra money on bottled water?

In the same respect, research which bottled water is the purest as well. No sense in having undrinkable tap water just to purchase equally unpurified bottled water, right?

Actually there are some places where tap water is clean to drink and you can't trust bottle water in certain places .Therefore i advise to drink what you are sure of its safety .

There are some places where tap water is not good because it is too dirty! I would say that bottle watere is better because it is cleaner.
