Think this over for a moment. Here in Australia when a federal election is held, the government forces non major party elected candidates by the people. Who Voter awarded the seat to, to give up their seat to the major elected party in power on the day for their own party's members under preference voting.
Instead of including the elected politician regardless of which other party the candidate formally supports who the people voted in as the peoples choice to form part of a new party among the ruling party of the day elected to power.
Hence my question should non party politicians be made to give up their seat to a person who was not elected by the people for the seat in that electoral area?
