Today there are many protestant denominations within Christianity. Each hold to slightly different doctrines, but they are mainly split into two schools of theology: Those who profess to be under grace APART from the Law; & those who require a continued adherence to the Law.
Why are so many confused by what Paul teaches on this point in Romans Chapter Three?
What is your understanding of this passage?
"We know what the Law is, to those who live under it—that there is no excuse & none are beyond the judgment of God. No man can justify himself before God by a perfect performance of the Law—indeed it is the straight-edge of the Law that shows us how crooked we are. But the righteousness of God is now declared quite APART from the Law—it is a righteousness imparted to, and operating in, all who have faith in Jesus Christ. The whole matter is now on a different plane—BELIEVING instead of ACHIEVING; being justified by faith in Christ, not by adherence to the Law." PARAPHRASED DUE TO SPACE
