The civil war in Syria has recently escalated to the use of chemical warfare. In light of what the media reports as "confirmed evidence" that such is the case, the U.S. Government is now poised to respond. The U.S. Fleet in the Mediterranean has been put on heightened alert & there is talk of military action in the form of launching cruise missiles.
This begs the question --- who is the target? Following this conflict for several months has NOT resulted in any clear indication regarding the true motives of either side, & even within Syria, the lines are blurred. The polls today indicate that 78% of Americans think that the US should avoid ANY military involvement. Never-the-less, the President's press secretary announced that involvement is imminent.
While I am NOT one to advocate isolationism, with so many other nations also looking into this conflict, why does the US Government always react like we alone are the world police & must intervene?
